March 18, 2004                                              LAND USE PLAN COMMITTEE                           6:30 P.M.

 

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with Mike Weinkauf, Pat Hurley, Chris Johnson, Bob Willard, Chuck Haubrich, Judy Karweik, Dean Stapleton and Lloyd Frye (Chairman) present.  Chris Denman, alternate, was also present.

 

Betty Novy, Clerk, was present.

 

Dennis Crombie arrived at 6:40 p.m.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to create rules to structure committee meetings.

 

Consensus of the group was as follows:

 

§         Meetings will be held on Thursdays with the next meeting scheduled at the conclusion of each meeting.  The time period will be 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  After that time, the meeting can be extended for fifteen-minute intervals if members agree by vote.

 

§         The purpose of meetings was stated as review and make recommendations for changes to update the Land Use Plan and expand its scope to cover Comprehensive Plan elements.

 

§         It was agreed to provide a “Period for Public Comment” on the agenda scheduled at 7:45 p.m.  Public input is to be invited at that time only and will be limited to three minutes from any one individual.  The Chairman may grant an extension to the time limit if he feels it is warranted. 

 

§         Any items requiring a vote are to be placed on the agenda for the beginning of the next meeting and should be appropriately posted.

 

§         If a vote results in a tie, both sides of that particular issue will be presented with final recommendations.

 

The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. 

 

Committee members are to go through Chapter 1 of Land Use Plan text and bring recommended changes/ updates to the meeting.

 

The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
