July 2, 2007                                PLANNING COMMISSION                                             6:30 p.m.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with Paul Beere, Bob Willard, Maureen Eckert and Chris Johnson present. Brian Wanasek was absent.

Sandi Swan, Secretary, was also present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes.  Bob Willard moved, 2nd by Chris Johnson to approve minutes of the June 4, 2007meeting with the following corrections:

Review and recommendation to adopt as a planning guide:

SEWRPC Planning Report No. 49, “A Regional Transportation System Plan for Southeastern Wisconsin: 2035”

Bob Willard reported that he did read through the report and stated that it is very vague and there are no specifics in it that relate to Rochester.

<Insert> Members of the committee reported looking through the report and said they recommend the Town Board adopt it.

Motion  carried.

Certified survey Map – Final - Land Division creating three parcels out of two:

33410 Washington Ave

Owner(s):  Marc & Tammy Chart;  Nick & Jacqueline Ahlers

Tax Parcel(s):  014-31905057004 (11.19 Acres) ;  014031905002010 (13.38 Acres)

Swan indicated that there are no changes to the Certified Survey Map since last months meeting; however the land is still subject to passing a soil test and having those test spots indicated on the CSM.  Johnson stated that he would be testing the soil in the near future.

Paul Beere moved, 2nd by Maureen Eckert to recommend approval of the final CSM contingent upon a passable soil test and those test spots indicated on the final CSM in addition to the Town Engineers approval.  Motion carried.

Gravel Pit Permit Renewal Applications:

Racine County Public Works Site; Academy Road

Racine County Public Works did not have a representative present as requested from last months meeting; however they did submit a topical map of the gravel pit with sections and a very brief status of each section of the gravel pit.

The Commission still raised questions about whether or not the County had a current Master Plan for the pit. They also would like to know what the final grades and slopes will be on the restored land.

Consensus of the Commission was to have a representative from RCPW to attend the next meeting to answer their questions before approval of permit.

Willard moved, 2nd by Johnson to adjourn at 6:55 p.m. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Sandi Swan
